Vahombey × PodVision

Podcasters are now supporting our library and its mission

We are officially teaming up with PodVisionto make sure the Vahombey library continues a vibrant place for students in Bekitro. Starting in March 2026, every podcaster who uses PodVision's services is contributing directly to our mission. We're excited to see how this steady support helps us grow over the coming years.

A bit about us

We are a community library tucked away in southern Madagascar where books used to be hard to come by. Jullian Androkae, our founder, launched this project in 2018 with the goal of changing the educational opportunities of our village and region.

Opened in 2021, our space is now a daily hub for 500+ students who come to read and study under the supervision of our librarians, Razafindrazay Irène Raissa and Raharimalala Mariline. Students get free access to our library space and meeting room.

About PodVision

A Podcast production agency that helps podcasters and businesses make great podcasts. Founded by Andreea Coscai and Jullian Androkae, they have always used their international experience to lead community efforts in their home countries. With this partnership, they are including the library in their service model, giving their clients and listeners a direct way to support literacy.

The impact our library has provided so far

The numbers tell a great story. Over the past 5 years, exemplary leadership and deep community integration have led to:

Inside the Vahombey library in Bekitro
  • Since the library's integration, there has been a 20% increase in Baccalauréat success rates, as reported by the local high-school director.
  • The library serves approximately 190 students every day, acting as the official headquarters for those preparing for their final exams.
  • After five years of intensive use, 95% of the original book collection remains intact, a testament to the immense value the students of Bekitro place on these tools.
  • The local college (CEG) has officially institutionalized "Vahombey Time," making two hours of weekly reading a core part of the student curriculum.
  • For students who travel from far-away sub-villages, the library provides a secure refuge to study and rest during the heat of the day.

The Official Seal

Official Podcast Partner badge — This podcast supports library access in rural Madagascar

When you see the "Official Partner of Rural Library Access" badge on a podcast's show notes or website, you are looking at a creator who is helping bridge the educational gap in our village. Listeners of these shows are getting a great podcast and supporting both the podcaster and our Vahombey Library.

The Nature of our collaboration

This collaboration allows PodVision and their collaborators to share our story with their audience. In return, their support covers part of the ongoing needs of our space, staff and students. We always need additional support, so please consider making a direct contribution.
